All students are invited to our day trip to Six Flags over Georgia on Monday, June 1. We will be leaving at 6:45 am and return around 10:20 pm.  Any student in grades 7-12 is welcome to go.  Cost is $30 plus money for two meals. All students will need to complete and turn in an updated permission form to go on this trip.  Trip fee is due Sunday, May 24th.  We need an accurate count by this date.  Make plans to join us for this fun day.

Overview:  A Christian worldview is necessary for any person who wants to live a Christ-honoring life in a secular society.  This course will apply biblical truth to many areas of public life (law, education, business) that many in the culture consider ‘off limits’ to the church.  The benefit of cultivating a Christian worldview is that believers can know Jesus more intimately as Lord over every aspect of their lives.

We were reminded during our missions conference that all believers are to be involved in the Great Commission by being senders, goers, mobilizers, or welcomers.  Welcomers reach out to those that God has brought to our community from other nations around the world. You will have an opportunity to be a welcomer next month by having an international student (or two) over to your house for Christmas dinner.  This is a great opportunity for you to open up your home to internationals, share American Christmas traditions, your own family traditions, the meaning of Christmas, and the love of Christ with them.  80% of internationals who come to the United States never get invited into an American home.  Let us not miss this opportunity to be welcomers.  If you want to host an international student from AUM for Christmas dinner, please contact Judd Hough at jhough@pobox.com for details.

]]> We’re forming a new Student Ministry Leadership Team for the 2009-10 church year.  Students in grades 7-12 who are interested in being a part of
S.A.L.T. (Student & Adults Leadership Team) need to pick up an application and return it to Randy or the office by Sunday, August 16th.  Students and adults will pray for, plan and implement all aspects of the student ministry.  All SALT members will be on the ‘Lead Team’ for Disciple Now in February 2010.   If you want to help evaluate and share your ideas on effective ministry, you’ll want to be a part of this team.  Applications are available at the student page of the website.
