AWANA

Alethia Center

On Wednesday evenings starting at 6:00 p.m. we have Awana Clubs. We start with Puggles (two year olds), Cubbies (three and four year olds), Sparks (kindergarten – second grade), Truth in Training (third – sixth grade). Awana Clubs can enrich your family time and motivate you to help your children with scripture memory.  Bible teaching, scripture memorization and tons of fun during our Awana Club is designed to have a lasting impact on the life of your child. The goal of Awana is to bring churches and parents together to raise kids to know, love and serve Christ for life through:

  • Commitment to reaching unsaved families with the gospel
  • Bible memory and doctrine to build a biblical worldview
  • Support for parents as kids’ primary spiritual trainers
  • A fun, dynamic approach to learning God’s Word
  • Mentor and peer relationships

Each club builds on the previous club and yet each club stands alone in appropriate age level teaching of the truths of God’s Word.  Awana Clubs premise is to promote parental interaction using the handbooks at home with the leader signing off to hold the child accountable.  It is the hope of this church that this will be a means to take your child deeper into God’s Word.  With that in mind, we recognize that each child is “unique and wonderfully made”.  It is our desire to see your child encouraged as they are learning God’s truths.  We are not emphasizing how quickly they can go through the handbook but how well they can retain what they have learned.  The badges and pins are a way to motivate your child to remain true throughout the year.  Your child should move through the handbook at a pace that is suitable for your family. Awana is but one way in which scripture and Bible truths can be taught.
