Sunday Morning Bible Study Groups

Our Bible study groups meet every Sunday morning at 9:15 AM to study the Scriptures and to fellowship with one another in Christ.  These groups provide one of our most important avenues for studying the Bible and for developing rich friendships with others who sincerely love the Lord Jesus.

We offer a variety of classes for members and guests in different stages of life.  Morningview’s single adult, married adult, and senior adult ministries are designed to help you grow in your relationship with Christ and your knowledge of His Word.  We hope you will become a part of one of these groups as you participate in the life of our church!

If you need help locating a class right for you, feel free to browse a listing of adult classes below. You may also visit our Welcome Center in the Calhoun Road foyer on Sunday morning or just call us at (334) 272-2304. We will be happy to help you.

Morningview Institute of Theology (M.I.T.)

The Morningview Institute of Theology is a lay-theological institute that meets Sunday evenings from 5:00 pm until 6:15 pm during the school year. It offers ten week courses on the Bible, formal theology, church history, and practical Christian ministry and life. Students who complete six courses from each of the three M.I.T. circles depicted below will be given a lay-theological training certificate. We invite you to join us as we study!

Karis Groups

Morningview’s Karis Groups are small groups of two or three people of the same gender who gather for the purpose of fellowship and accountability.  Small groups of believers are able to form close interpersonal connections, which encourage believers to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.  These groups meet regularly to ask accountability questions, to pray for one another, and to pray for the salvation of people who do not yet know Christ.  The groups also discuss the weekly Bible reading and sometimes they talk through a good Christian book.  Karis Groups are informally organized and maintained by the members of the groups themselves.  We would love for you to get plugged in to one of our Karis Groups!

G.R.A.C.E. Evangelism/Outreach

Morningview’s G.R.A.C.E. ministry provides members with a monthly opportunity to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to our community.  Each week, a different G.R.A.C.E. team goes out to welcome new people to our neighborhood and to explain the hope we have in Christ.  We are all called to be witnesses for Christ in both word and deed, and God promises a great blessing to those who faithfully obey Him.  Come be a part of the G.R.A.C.E. ministry and discover the joy that results from telling others about Jesus Christ!

Intercessory Prayer Room

Volunteer church members enjoy the privilege of uniting with one voice on behalf of others in our church, city, state, nation and around the world. Intercessors ask God to work on behalf of people, nations and circumstances. Requests come in via written requests, email, worship cards, web or phone.

Our immediate goal is to occupy the Prayer Room fourteen hours each day. We invite your participation by signing up in an available one-hour time frame. To do so, contact Barbara Holly at 272.6227 or barbaraholly@bellsouth.net. You can also contact the church office, 272.2304.

You may call the Prayer Room anytime at 334.277.2937. If an intercessor does not answer your call, please leave a clear brief message.
