Children’s Ministry…An Explanation of Our Classes on Sunday Evenings
Three years ago we implemented a strategy to help parents disciple their children. It was our hope and desire to be a support for our parents as they strive to form a biblical foundation in their homes. The passage below contains our passion for families, that they would be strengthened and empowered to lead in their homes spiritually and would comprehend and know the love and fullness of God from generation to generation. With our focus being on generations to come, verse 21 has become our central theme…thus the name Generation 321 (G321) for the Sunday night Discipleship time for children.
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, (21)to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” ~ Ephesians 3:14-21
Our courses for children are Music, Missions, and Memory. We are asking that you consider a place of service in just one of these areas. These courses are held on a rotating basis, allowing adults serving to choose a class and age to which they are particularly drawn for a ten week period. It would be ideal to have a team of teachers for each course offered, Music, Missions, and Memory. We are seeking to provide a strategy by which adults can serve in G321 as well as learn in a MIT class.
G321 Missions – leading children to be involved in the spread of the Gospel locally and abroad by praying, giving and doing.
G321 Memory – leading children to learn sound biblical doctrines through memorization of the boys and girls catechism.
G321 Music – leading children in praise and worship of God through music.
