As our Seniors look forward to graduation, we will be honoring this achievement during our morning service.  We will recognize our seniors and have a special luncheon in Armstrong Hall for their families following the service.  Please be praying for our graduating “Class of 2010″ as they celebrate and prepare for the next stage of their young lives.  We are very proud of each of them!

All students are invited to our day trip to Six Flags over Georgia on Monday, June 1. We will be leaving at 6:45 am and return around 10:20 pm.  Any student in grades 7-12 is welcome to go.  Cost is $30 plus money for two meals. All students will need to complete and turn in an updated permission form to go on this trip.  Trip fee is due Sunday, May 24th.  We need an accurate count by this date.  Make plans to join us for this fun day.

Date of Trip:  June 18-26, 2010.

Costs:  $1380, plus spending money

Deposits:  $150 non-refundable deposit is needed by Sunday, April 11^th.  You are responsible for the remaining costs of the trip.  You are encouraged to begin now writing support letters to family and friends that would consider praying and financially supporting your mission endeavor.  The church will assist by paying (up to) 25% of the trip cost.

Who can participate:  Adults and students.  All participants must be members of Morningview Baptist.

Students must have completed the 10^th grade.

Is there an application for the trip? Yes.  Participants must turn in application wit deposit by April 11^th.

What is the main purpose of our trip? We’ll serve alongside with Missionary Steve Thompson at Camp Chacauco through pastoral training, bible clubs, and construction/camp work.

FRIDAY Schedule:
Students meet Friday, February 12th at Taylor Road Baptist Church
at 6:00 pm.  Bring your luggage to TRBC.
Doors open for Citywide Rally at 6:30 pm.
Students will leave TRBC at 9:15 pm for Host Homes.

SATURDAY Schedule:
Students will be studying the life of Daniel in the host homes, serving at a mission site in the afternoon and
conclude the evening with a Worship Rally at Dalraida Baptist Church.
**Parents, please pick up your student(s) at Dalraida Baptist at 8:15 pm on Saturday.

SUNDAY Schedule:
Student Breakfast in the Big Room at 8:45 am.  Big Room Dnow rally with band and message at 9:20 am.
Dnow worship at 10:30 am followed by a lunch for students, leaders and host home families in Armstrong
Hall at 12:15 pm.  Parents, please pick up your student(s) at 1:30 pm at Morningview Baptist Church.

What to Bring list? Bible, pen, casual clothes for Friday and Saturday, jeans and Dnow T-shirt for Sunday,
sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, 2-liter soft drink, and a snack to be shared at host home.

Overview:  How do you ‘contend for the faith’ in our skeptical culture?  Tim Keller gives us the reasons for believing in our Almighty God and how to defend your faith in Him.  This class will strengthen your resolve and your love for God while equipping you to give a defense for Him.  You’ll enjoy understanding the ‘reasons for God’ for yourself and to share with your circle of influence.

Theology 2:
Christian Beliefs: Twenty basics every Christian should know

Overview:  This guide to twenty key Christian beliefs is a condensed version of Grudem’s larger volume on systematic theology.  You will learn about the Bible,
characteristics of God, the purpose of the church, election, what will happen when Christ returns, angels/Satan and demons, and much more.  This class is a must for
every Christian serious about deepening their understanding of their faith.

Christian Worldview

Overview:  A Christian worldview is necessary for any person who wants to live a Christ-honoring life in a secular society.  This course will apply biblical truth to many areas of public life (law, education, business) that many in the culture consider ‘off limits’ to the church.  The benefit of cultivating a Christian worldview is that believers can know Jesus more intimately as Lord over every aspect of their lives.

This event includes the Friday night rally with Chris Brooks speaking, mission project, great sessions, good food, and your friends.  Total of $40 due by January 31st.

Our students will be serving at Brantwood Chhildren’s Home on Saturday, November 14th from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

Our afternoon will include games with the students, drama skits, music, and a meal.  We will meet at Morningview Baptist Church at 1:40 pm.

Our retreat will be a 24-hour Friday and Saturday event designed to give you some solid teaching about your ‘identity in Christ’ and allow time and opportunity for you to connect with others in this ministry.  It will be memorable, and you don’t want to miss out.  Make sure you follow the “what to bring list” and get your small fee returned by Sunday, September 6th.  Welcome aboard Rookies!  We’re looking forward to a great year.

What to bring:  Bible, pen, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, sunscreen, toiletries, modest swimsuit, change of clothes.  All rookies bring a 2-liter drink; GUYS bring a bag of chips, GIRLS bring snack – Oreos, Skittles, etc.  $10 fee is due September 6th.

All 7-12th grade students – FUEL returns this Wednesday, August 12th at 6:00 pm in the Big Room.   FUEL includes our praise band, weekly messages, small groups and new drama group for students, led by Kendra Newton.  We use our FUEL groups to plan and prepare local mission projects throughout the year as well.  Join us for FUEL this Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 pm.
