The Morningview Christmas Celebration
Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Every December it is our distinct privilege and joy to celebrate and treasure God’s grace in Christ Jesus, given to us as a humble baby born in stable.

Though the story is old and familiar for so many of us, a fresh look at it’s cherished lines still brings a sense of wonder and awe even to those who know it best.

One of our favorite traditions at Morningview is the retelling of the sweet story through the the rich sounds and angelic melodies of the holiday season.
Apart from our regular weekend services of worship, we set aside one Sunday evening per year especially for the purpose of treasuring the child in the manger in song.

This is our “Christmas Celebration” and we would love to share it with you!

Please come and be the guest of our Orchestra and Choir as we celebrate the Savior with some of the most time honored songs of the season and then join us for a reception to follow.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Christmas Choir starts next Wednesday at 6:45 pm!

It’s hard to believe, but with the start of school behind us and the last few months of the year just ahead, the Christmas season is just around the corner and that means it’s time for Christmas Choir again!

If you have ever wanted to see what it was like to serve in the worship ministry or to sing as a part of a great Choir singing some of the most majestic Music of Season (Handel’s Messiah for one!) then Christmas Choir is the place for you.

Starting this coming Wednesday, September 21, Christmas Choir will meet weekly at 6:45pm in the Music Suite. There’s no audition required and this group is open to all with hearts to sing and to serve!

We hope to see you next Wednesday in Christmas Choir!

New Worship Music online

Interested in listening to some the music that we use in our worship services at home? If you have a computer and connection to the internet you can! Occasionally, we publish “playlists” of some the best music that we can find out there for worship and devotion so that you can enjoy them even when not in a worship service. You’ll find these “iMixes” on several our pages here at Morningview.org. Each will link you to the “iTunes” online music store through you can purchase and then download them to whatever digital music player you prefer.

We’ve recently added the “iMix” below. Lord willing, we will be learning all of these songs in our Worship services over the next several months, so go ahead and take a listen. We really think that these songs represent some of the best examples of new worship music being written today and we are excited to share them with you. May you draw near to the Savior as you listen and may the sweetness of His grace become all the richer for having heard it proclaimed here.

Special Schedule Tonight at Morningview!

Parents, please don’t forget that tonight (Wednesday, June 3) is our first of 2 Dress rehearsals for our G321 Musical “Truth for the Trail.”

Please have children in the Sanctuary by 6:00pm tonight so that we can get started promptly and end by our regular program time of 7:30pm.

There will be no adult choir tonight due to our worship leadership’s involvement with the musical, but prayer meeting (and our family supper) will proceeded according to our normal schedule.
