North first floor flooding at Morningview Baptist Church

Flash Flooding hit Montgomery this morning and left much of our Church’s first floor underwater.  While the majority of the water has currently subsided, much water still remains on the first floor and current damage level is unknown.  At about 11:00am this morning, the smell of smoke lead to the decision to evacuate the children of our School (Cornerstone Classical Christian) from the building.  School is closed for the remainer of the day.  The Fire Department has just deemed the building safe, so School will resume tomorrow.

As of the writing of this post the complete extent of our damage is still unknown, but given the fire department’s assessment, our current plan is for Sunday Services to proceed as normal.

We will need a large group of volunteers to meet at the church on Saturday Morning to help cleanup.  Please pass the word to all those in the church family who may be able to come and help.

Please continue to check back here at morningview.org as we will post all update as information becomes available.
